Alpha DMS Case Study

Alpha DMS is a delivery company that serves parcel delivery services. This company is based in the United Kingdom (UK). Alpha DMS provides parcel delivery of different products to their customers but they are specialized in delivering groceries. One of their biggest customers is Oddbox. Alpha DMS agreed with  Qtec Solution Limited with an aim to develop a website with appropriate algorithm and cost optimization design. The Qtec Solution Limited  team provided utmost dedication while building this software solution for managing their business and saving a lot of redundant work time . We, the custom software development company have  developed the Delivery Management Software  within plan schedule. The software was built using Django/Python technology at the backend with templates on the front end for the company employees.

The client requested a delivery service platform (Backend, frontend, website) with cost minimized platform  design and development . They wanted to have three different log in/sign up panels(Super admin dashboard, User, Driver) for their users. The super admin must have access to all panels. They wish to use Google maps and AWS(Amazon Web Services) for route generation. One of the requirements was an Analytical dashboard. The client also requested for a template system. The Qtec Solution team developed the custom software solution with algorithm efficiency and time saving features for the company employees.

Key features

Optimal Route Generation

One of the significant key features of this software platform is the optimal route generation for the drivers. According to the given addresses an appropriate route is generated for the drivers so that they can save time and fuel consumptions.

Analytical Dashboard

An analytical dashboard is implemented in this website. Delivery reports, Order reports, Route reports, Driver reports, all these information are available in this dashboard.

Template System

The Qtec Solution Limited team has generated a template system on this custom made software . This template saves the previously generated routes that can be used while delivering in the same addresses next time.

Google Maps

We have implemented google maps API in this website for route generating. A Geolocation API was integrated to find the exact location of an address. Distance Matrix API was implemented to calculate the distance between two addresses. The team has also implemented a JavaScript map.

AWS(Amazon Web Services) Location

The team also inserted AWS Map features to have better results while route generating. The service is relatively new and our team had to do a fair amount of R&D for implementing it. Oddbox API

An API is integrated between Oddbox and Alpha DMS software. Through the API The orders placed in Oddbox are received by this Alpha DMS software . Alpha DMS then fulfills the orders received by the OddoBox platform.

How we build it?

Qtec Solution Limited has developed this software in such architecture and user experience that it should be able to  make it easier to use for the users. The team has implemented Google Maps API and AWS features in order to generate optimized routes which will save time and reduce cost. The team has put great effort into developing features such as analytical dashboard template system and Oddbox API. Alpha DMS website was developed with Agile Software Development Methodology. The designated team members were assigned tasks according to the sprint. Our scrum master used to conduct meetings daily to keep records of the work process.
